The 801
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026 · Version: 1.0
1. Who this covers
This policy covers LR STATION 801 LLC and the two businesses it runs at 801 S Chester Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201:
- The 801 — a private members' lounge, at
lounge.the801lr.com. - Station 801 — an event center, where the hall is booked, at
events.the801lr.com.
One policy covers both, because they share an address, one website, one phone system and one back office. Where something applies to only one of them, this policy says which.
It covers applicants, members and former members of the lounge; people who enquire about or book the hall; and anyone who contacts either business. It applies to the website, the application, membership and booking systems, the messages we send, the phone lines, and the door-access system.
2. What we collect
From your application
This is the membership application for the lounge. What a reservation at the Station 801 event center collects is name, email, phone, date, block, event type, number of guests, description, and agreement to the terms.
| What | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Your name | To identify your membership and your access credentials |
| Your email address | To send the decision on your application, your receipts, your entry code, and account notices |
| Your mobile phone number | To reach you about your membership, and to send texts if you asked for them |
| Your date of birth | To confirm you are 21 or over. This is the age check for the lounge — see section 9 |
| Your term | Whether you chose month to month, six months or twelve |
| Card details | Handled entirely by Stripe. See below |
The application asks for nothing else. It does not collect a mailing address, a referral, an emergency contact or a photograph. A locker is not part of the application: if you want one it is added afterwards, by the lounge, once you are approved (Membership Terms section 7).
Payment details — what we do and do not hold
Card details go directly to Stripe, our payment processor. The 801 never receives, sees or stores your card number, its expiry date or its security code. What we keep is limited to a Stripe identifier for the saved card and the result of each charge. Stripe holds the card itself. That is enough to bill your dues and to tell you a payment has failed, and nothing more.
From your membership
- Membership record — status (applied, approved, declined, active, past due, cancelled, terminated), start and end dates, whether you have a locker and which locker number is assigned to you, and the term you are on (month to month, six months, or twelve).
- Billing record — the dues and locker charges made, when, whether they succeeded, and the receipts sent. The underlying transaction records are held by Stripe.
- Consent record — for each opt-in you were offered: the exact wording you were shown, its version, whether you ticked it, the date and time, the IP address and browser the submission came from, and if you later revoked it, when and how.
- The recurring-charge acknowledgement — the box you ticked to confirm that your dues repeat, the renewal terms exactly as they were shown next to it, and the term you picked. It is kept the same way as a consent record and for the same reasons, but it is not a permission to contact you and is never treated as one.
From the door
- Door-access records — which credential was used, at which door, and when. This tells us who is in the building and lets us shut off access when a membership ends.
- Fingerprint and similar data. None. No fingerprint, face or similar data is collected, and entry is by code. Members will be able to add a headshot after launch; it is used as a profile picture only.
From your communications with us
Emails and texts, and what you tell us when you call.
Calls the automated assistant answers are recorded and transcribed. At launch the only assistant is on the Station 801 event line (501-770-0170). Until it is switched on, calls to both numbers at 801 S Chester Street — that line and the lounge line (501-387-1040) — are forwarded to a person. The lounge's own assistants come after launch, and this policy will say so before they start. When an assistant answers, it tells you the call is recorded and transcribed before it asks you anything. This applies whoever you are: a member, an applicant, somebody asking about the event center, or a wrong number. What we keep from a call is the recording, the text of what was said, the number you called from, and a one-line note of what the call was about. The number and the note are part of the same stored call as the text. Section 5 says how long each lasts: the recording is deleted at 90 days, and the text, the number and the note within 12 months.
Nobody is asked for a card number on the phone. No assistant takes payment by voice. If a caller reads a card number out anyway, it can end up on the recording and in the transcript. A check runs every day to find calls like that, and we delete the whole call, recording and transcript, within 24 hours of it being found. Do not read out card numbers on the phone.
You can ask us to delete a transcript of your own call. See section 6.
From the website
- Basic technical data your browser sends: IP address, browser and device type, the pages you viewed, and the date and time.
- Cookies. The site sets only the cookies it needs to work: the one that remembers you passed the age gate, and the one that keeps you signed in to the member portal. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless: it sets no cookie and is not used for advertising, and it counts visits and pages viewed. The site carries no advertising pixel.
3. Why we use it
- To decide your application — including confirming you are 21 or over, and letting a person at the lounge review and approve or decline.
- To run your membership — billing dues and the locker add-on, issuing receipts, telling you a payment failed, handling cancellations.
- To give you access — issuing, rotating and deactivating door credentials, and keeping the access records that make that possible.
- To contact you about your own membership — the operational messages listed in the message catalogue for this site.
- To answer the phone and act on what was said — taking a booking enquiry for the hall, answering a question about membership, passing you to a person, and reading the finished calls each morning, from the stored calls described in section 2 rather than from a separate copy, so the owner can see overnight calls.
- To send you marketing, only on the channels you specifically opted into, and only for as long as you leave that opt-in on.
- To keep the lounge safe and the rules enforceable — investigating a breach of the House Rules, damage, or a safety incident.
- To keep records the law requires — tax and accounting records, and the evidence that the club operates as a private club with 21-and-over members, where that matters.
- To keep proof of consent — so that if a member ever says they did not agree to be contacted, the lounge can show exactly what they were shown and when.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent, trade or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
4. Who we share it with
| Who | What they get | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Your name, email, and the card details you enter directly with them | To process dues and the locker add-on. The 801 is the merchant of record. Stripe handles the data under its own privacy policy and its own security certifications |
| Cloudflare | Your name and email address and the content of the emails sent to you; and technical data in transit, including your IP address and the pages you view | To serve the website, count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, block abuse, and deliver outbound email. Email is sent on The 801's behalf, from The 801's own domain |
| Telnyx | Your phone number and the content of the texts; and the telephone connection of any call to either line (it carries the call whether a person or an assistant answers) | Texts only if you opted in; carriers also handle the message in transit. For calls, Telnyx carries the call |
| ElevenLabs | Your phone number and what is said on the call, on any call an assistant answers (at launch, the event line) | This is the automated assistant that answers the phone, and it is what produces the recording and the transcript. Outbound AI-assisted calling is a separate thing and that channel is not in use — see section 7 |
| Google Cloud (Vertex AI), hosting Anthropic's Claude model | What is said on a call, as text, so the assistant can understand you and reply | It hosts the AI model behind the automated assistant that answers the phone, working through ElevenLabs. Your call may be processed in the United States, Europe or Singapore, wherever ElevenLabs runs it for speed and performance |
| GitHub, Inc. | The text of finished calls, for a few seconds, in a temporary server's memory | Only for the daily automated check that looks for spoken card numbers. Nothing from the call text is stored, printed, posted or sent from that step, and the temporary server is discarded after it runs |
| Door-lock / access-control vendor — Sifely | Your entry code, once the system is connected to the lock; until then the lounge enters codes at the lock by hand and the system sends the vendor nothing | To operate the door and control who gets in |
| Stratos Digital | Access to the membership system as the operator of the platform | Stratos Digital builds and runs the website and membership system as a service provider to The 801. It processes member data on The 801's instructions and for The 801's purposes. It may also use de-identified, aggregated usage data (counts, error rates and performance, never names, contact details, payment details, consent records or call content) to improve the platform. It does not sell member data |
| The lounge's professional advisors — accountant, attorney, insurer | Only what a specific matter requires | Tax, legal and insurance matters |
| Law enforcement or a public authority | Only what the law requires, or what is needed to respond to a genuine emergency | Legal obligation |
| A buyer of the business | Member records, as part of the business | If the lounge is ever sold, member records go with it |
No other vendor touches member data. If one is added — a bookkeeping tool, a CRM, an email marketing platform, a scheduling tool — it is added to this table before it is connected.
5. How long we keep it
| Record | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Application that was declined | 30 days |
| Member and booking records — applied, approved, active, and after the membership or booking ends | The life of the membership plus seven years |
| Billing and tax records | 3 years |
| Consent and revocation records | The same period: the life of the membership plus seven years |
| Door-access logs | 6 months |
| Message logs — emails and texts sent | 15 days |
| Call recording — the audio of your call | 90 days, then deleted. Our phone vendor may hold deleted data in its backups for up to 30 more days |
| Call transcript — the text of what was said on it, with the number called from and the one-line note, which are part of the same stored call | Up to 12 months, then all three are deleted together. Backups as above |
The two call rows apply to every call an assistant answers — the event line at launch, the lounge line once its assistant starts — and to everyone who makes one, member or not. Nothing about a call is kept after those periods: the number called from and the one-line note go when the transcript does. A card number read aloud is removed by deleting the whole call within 24 hours of it being found, as section 3 says.
When a retention period ends, the record is deleted or anonymized. Some records — tax and accounting in particular — must be kept even after you ask us to delete your data; section 6 explains that.
6. Your rights
You can:
- Ask what we hold about you, and get a copy.
- Ask us to correct it if it is wrong.
- Ask us to delete it. We will delete what we are not required to keep. We cannot delete billing and tax records within their retention period, and we cannot delete the record of a consent you gave or revoked, because that record is the proof of what happened. When we do delete a membership record, we keep one minimized consent row, with your email address and phone number held as a keyed one-way code rather than in the clear — enough to answer "did that person agree to be messaged?" if it is ever asked, and not enough to identify you on its own.
- Ask us to delete the recording or the transcript of a call you made. Just ask, on the phone numbers in section 11. It is a single control in the back office and it does not wait for the retention period.
- Ask us to stop contacting you on any marketing channel, at any time — see section 7.
- Ask us how a decision was made, including why an application was declined, subject to what section 4 of the Membership Terms says about giving reasons.
To make any of these requests, call one of the numbers in section 11. We verify that a request comes from you by replying to the email address or phone number already on your membership record, rather than to whatever address the request arrived from.
We respond within 30 days. Arkansas has no general consumer privacy statute imposing a deadline today. We honor requests from members who live in states that do have such laws as though those laws applied, so there is one process rather than two.
7. How to stop each kind of contact
| Channel | How to stop it | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Marketing email | Click unsubscribe at the bottom of any marketing email, or call one of the numbers in section 11 | Marketing email stops. Account email does not — see below |
| Text messages | Reply STOP to any text. Reply HELP for help | Texting stops immediately and automatically, on that number, and we keep a record that you stopped it. It stops both operational and marketing texts |
| Marketing texts | The same STOP, or call one of the numbers in section 11 | This channel is not in use. We collect the opt-in now so we do not have to ask again later; nothing marketing is sent by text until we tell you the channel has started |
| AI-assisted phone calls | Say so on a call, or call one of the numbers in section 11 | This channel is not in use. The opt-in is collected and held; no automated call is placed on it until we tell you the channel has started. This row is about calls we place to you. A call you place to us may be answered by an automated assistant — that is section 2, and it is not something you opt into by ticking this box |
| Account and membership email | This cannot be switched off while your membership is active | These are the messages your membership depends on — that your application was decided, your entry code, your receipts, a failed payment, a closure. Turning them off would mean you could not be told your own entry code changed. If you do not want them, the way out is to end the membership |
| Everything | Cancel your membership under section 14 of the Membership Terms | Contact stops except for what we must send about closing out your account |
Opting out of one channel does not opt you out of the others. They are separate consents and they are stopped separately.
8. How we protect it
- Member data sits in the membership system behind authentication. Only The 801's administrators can open member records. Access to member records is logged.
- The site runs over HTTPS. The membership application and the event request form are checked with Cloudflare Turnstile before they are accepted, to keep bots out.
- Card numbers are never in our systems — that risk sits with Stripe by design. No card is taken by phone either, and a call on which someone read out card digits is deleted whole, recording and transcript, within 24 hours of the daily check finding it.
- Call transcripts are the most restricted records we hold. Only the owner can open one; the administrators' logins cannot reach them at all. They are never emailed, never sent by text and never handed to anyone as an export. One automated step does read them: a daily check reads the text of each finished call in short-lived memory on a GitHub-hosted server, only to look for spoken card numbers, and keeps, prints and sends nothing from it, the caller's number shows as its last two digits, and every time a transcript is opened it is logged and that log is shown on the call itself — who read it and when.
- Your entry code is sent by email. It is never sent by text, and the member area does not display it. If you lose the email, call the lounge on 501-387-1040.
- If there is a breach of personal information, we notify affected members and any authority that must be told, as A.C.A. § 4-110-101 and following requires, and we do it from a written procedure rather than inventing one at the time. Scott Hamilton is the one person responsible for telling members and the state.
No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
9. Age — the lounge is 21 and over
The 801 is a private members' lounge for adults aged 21 and over. This section is about the lounge. The lounge site at lounge.the801lr.com is age-gated: you give a date of birth before any page of it is reachable, and the membership application asks for it again.
- The lounge site is not directed to children or to anyone under 21, and neither site is directed to children.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21 through the lounge. If we learn that we have, we delete it and the application or membership is void.
- If you believe someone under 21 has given us information, call one of the numbers in section 11 and we will remove it.
This also satisfies the federal rule on children's data (COPPA, which applies under 13) by a wide margin, because nobody under 21 is admitted to any part of the lounge and neither business is aimed at children.
The event center's reservation terms, which a customer accepts when reserving, govern who may reserve and attend. This policy applies to anyone whose information the event center collects.
10. Changes to this policy
We may change this policy. The current version is always posted at https://the801lr.com/privacy/ with the date it took effect. When a change is material, we email members at the address on their membership before it takes effect.
